The artifact demonstrate a lesson plan for a lecture in the Helping Relations class

This document is a power point of a lecture of Multicultural Awareness. It is important to have visual as tools to guide and facilitate in class

During this document I provided a lesson plan to teach. Having a lesson plan is important to have objectives and the materials needed for the class.

During this document we can observe the feedback and critique my students provided. This allows me to evaluate my effectiveness in teaching and modify anything for the benefit of my students

This document is a syllabus which I create for a class. I had to learn the skills of implementing all the content necesary to guive objectives of course, couse description, course materials, and lesson plan.

This document provides information about my teaching philosophy and what is my preferred teaching styles to accomodate various styles of learning from the students

The following is the recommendation letter from the professor who

supervised me while in my teaching internship

During the counselor education doctoral program, I learn many skills to teach as a counselor educator. A counselor educator has the responsibility to teach upcoming counselors with integrity and rigor. The lesson plan and curriculum design must be objective and practical to help upcoming counselors develop the competencies. I discovered the difference between pedagogy and andragogy. Pedagogy introduces material to students while andrology integrates components of adult learning such as their experiences into the equation of learning. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have also been creative in the development of teaching infusing experiences to associate the material to get the more accurate application. I believe that I will continue to be a genuine, creative, and humanistic teacher.

One of the aspects of teaching which I certainly enjoy is the mentorship aspect of teaching. Walking along side students and future counselors aspiring to learn theories, techniques and from my personal experience. Including sending students to apply and practice the elements and competencies they are been instructed. I consider this to be a wonderful gift, watching others develop their counselor identity. I will continue to use the experiential model of teaching integrating lectures and hands on exercises to maximize the lessons. Certainly, everyone has a learning style so introducing diversity in the lesson plan, delivery, and assesment will benefit the students. Another aspect of teaching has been a gatekeeper of the profession, I can do this by assessing the benchmark competencies. It is an honor to teach students with new innovative empirical research.

I would like to continue growing in helping students achieve their full potential balancing their proffesional lives with their personal lives. Another area in which I would like to improve as well is the ability to infuse multicultural competencies in every area of counseling. I believe students will benefit greatly from understanding ethical standards in ACA, 2024 and practice and theory.
